What a way to celebrate Australia Day… we have those who desecrate & disrespect our flag & those who denigrate & disrespect our Australian of the Year. I truly can’t believe the online attacks on Katherine Bennell-Pegg who is an outstanding choice for Australian of the Year & an inspirational Aussie & woman. Katherine is our first astronaut to ever train under our Australian flag, who beat 22500 world-wide applicants to do so, which requires skills like a bachelor of applied science majoring in physics, and engineering with honours in aerobatic space engineering. These are also the sort of qualifications you need to join the only other 100 women worldwide who have ever qualified & flown as astronauts. The fact she hasn’t yet been into space is on Labor. Just after Katherine stated her astronaut training in 2023 the Albanese Labor government gutted the Australian space agency established by Liberal Governments, axed the $1.2 billion National Space Mission for Earth Observation program, the Spaceports program, the Australian Technology into Orbit program and a sub-program of the Moon to Mars program. Well done to Mary Madigan & @newscomauhq for calling the attacks on Katherine out 👏👏👏🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Did you know anti-Semitism, as a stand alone term, is only mentioned twice in Labor’s dangerous new Combatting Anti-Semitism, Hate & Extremism (Criminal & Migration Laws) Bill 2026. The word Islam or Islamic is not mentioned at all. I warned this was bad law on @skynewsaustralia last week & unfortunately I remain correct. It is so broad & catch-all as to be dangerous, while failing to address the actual issues: appalling anti-Semitism & radical Islamic extremism & terrorism.

Governments need to protect surfers, swimmers & divers not only from sharks, but anti-human attitudes that put us all in harm’s way: my column in @thetiser in 2014. Unfortunately still as relevant today 12 years on. After a shocking number of shark attacks in NSW over the past few days governments need act urgently to protect human life. @hontonyabbott agrees, as per the front page of @dailytelegraph today & @prickfork does too in his outstanding column in the Tele & The Tiser.

✅Handy fact: when Labor & the left claim we have a record number of guns in Australia - more than at the time of the Pt Arthur buyback - remind them that our population then was 17 million & it is now 28 million. Reports are that the pro-Palestinian protest is going ahead in Sydney today despite the police imploring them not to break the law & march - & cause further trauma to our Jewish community. If they do protest they should be arrested & charged & finally face consequences that should have started at the horrendous, sickening anti-Semitic protest on October 9 at the Opera House. If they are so disgusting as to march I hope there’s a fierce police presence & that the double standards we’ve seen to date disappear - remember how the police treated COVID lockdown protestors rightly worried about our freedom - about time people *actually* putting Australians in danger faced the full force of the law.
